EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: A presidential preference primary shall be held every four years for each political party or body which has cast for its candidates for President and Vice—President in the last presidential election more than 20 percent of the total vote cast for President and Vice—President in the State; and A presidential preference primary is the mechaniSm whereby electors may express their preference for one person to be the candidate for nomination by such person’s party or body for the office of the President of the United States; and Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21—2—192, the Governor shall issue a proclamation of such presidential preference primary, a copy of which shall be transmitted by the Secretary Of State to the superintendent of each county. NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY That Georgia’s presidential preference primary shall be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
