EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS : WHEREAS: ORDERED: FLAGS ON ALL STATE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF STAFF On July 16, 2015, Lance Corporal Skip Wells and Petty Officer 211d Class Randall Smith were tragically killed when a gunman attacked two military recruitment centers in Chattanooga, Tennessee; and ' Lance Corporal Skip Wells, 21, of Marietta, Georgia, honorably served our country in the United States Marines; and Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith, 26, Of Rossville, Georgia, honorably served our country in the United States Navy; and It is fitting and proper to recognize the sacrifices made by these military servicemen by lowering the flags on all State buildings and grounds to half—staff. Now, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF LANCE CORPORAL SKIP WELLS AND PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS RANDALL SMITH, PURSUANT To THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half—staff on all state buildings and grounds fromthis day until Thursday, July 30, 2015, at sunset.
