EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: The State of Georgia holds title to approximately 179 acres of improved real property by virtue of a November 27, 2013 deed from Georgia Building Authority, recorded in DeKalb County Clerk of Superior Court in Deed Book 24288, Pages 753-757 (the “Property”); and Said Property is in the custody of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities; and The Property is a portion of the site known as Georgia Regional Hospital and is improved with a building, commonly known as Building 23, (the “Structure”) which is more particularly identified in an aerial photo attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by reference; and The Commissioner of the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities declared the Structure to have no value, to present security and health concerns, and to be in need of demolition; and The Commissioner of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities requested the State Properties Commission to take all necessary steps to authorize the razing, demolition, and disposal of the Structure as in the best interest of the State of Georgia; and The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities has arranged for the DeKalb County Fire Department to demolish and dispose of the Structure.
