THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: FLAGS ON ALL STATE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF-STAF F On Monday, May 25, 2015, Americans will again join in unity to observe Memorial Day, a day designated to honor the memory of the men and women who served our great country with dedication, pride, and sacrifice; and We, a thankful nation, will forever be indebted to those who faithfully and honorably served by selflessly laying down their lives to protect our unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; and On Memorial Day, it is proper, fitting, and altogether right to honor and pay tribute to those who bravely made the ultimate sacrifice, comfort those who lost loved ones, and pray for those who continue to serve; and As Georgians, in addition to honoring the heroes of our country’s past, we owe special recognition to our oWn who courageously served and laid down their lives in service to our great nation; and The men and women of America’s armed forced also honor those sacrifices by continuing to ensure God’s gift of freedom for every American in continuing to answer the call of destiny to blaze the path of peace and to build the foundations of freedom.
