THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: On February 24, 2015, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of the State of Georgia and prompted the declaration of a State of Emergency for 50 counties in North Georgia (Executive Order 0224.15.01); and On February 25, 2015, the National Weather Service expanded the area for the Winter Storm Warning to include the county of Elbert; The assistance of the Government of the State of Georgia is necessary to implement protective measures to ensure the public health, preserve the safety of the public, keep property damage to a minimum and to minimize the social and economic impacts of this event on the citizens of this State; and In light of these circumstances and with the authority vested in the Governor by virtue of Article 3, Section 38—3—51, of the Georgia Emergency Management Act of 1981, as amended to issue reasonable orders, rules and regulations as are deemed necessary to protect public health, safety and welfare, and to bring the emergency situation under control within the acknowledged limitations of the powers of the Governor. NOW THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY That Executive Order 02.24.15.01 is hereby amended and the State of Emergency has been expanded to also include the county listed above for a period of one (1) day beginning at 2pm on February 25, 2015 and ending at 2pm on February 26, 2015, and that personnel and equipment
