EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: ORDERED: There currently exists at Southern Polytechnic State University, Cobb County, Marietta, Georgia, a group of buildings known as Complex K at 1100 South Marietta Parkway (K-1, K-2 and K-3), also known as the Clarence Arnston MET Building Complex, (the “buildings”); and The Board of Regents, at its meeting on May 20, 2014, declared that said buildings can no longer be advantageously used by Southern Polytechnic State University or the University System of Georgia and should be demolished and removed. Now, THEREFORE, BY THE POWER VES’I‘ED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, rr IS HEREBY That the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is hereby authorized to demolish and remove said buildings from Southern Polytechnic State University, Cobb County, Marietta, Georgia. IT IS FURTHER That the appropriate staff of Southern Polytechnic State University, Cobb County, Marietta, Georgia, acting under the approval of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, is hereby authorized to demolish said buildings and to have all building materials removed from the premises by public works contract; all said demolition and removal to be performed as expeditiously as possible.
