EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: FLAGS ON STATE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF STAFF The Honorable Howard “Bo” Callaway, was the first Republican from the State of Georgia elected to the United States House of Representatives since the Civil War; and Callaway served with distinction as Secretary of the Army after his term in Congress, and was awarded the Medal of Distinguished Public Service in 1975; and Callaway was a dedicated servant to the State of Georgia, as his forward thinking and hard work led to the growth of the Georgia Republican Party and the development of the politics within this great state; and Now, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF THE HONORABLE HOWARD “BO” CALLAWAY, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME As GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGLA, IT IS HEREBY That the flag of the United States and flag of the Great State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, the day of his funeral, until sunset.
