EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

ORDERED:

The State of Georgia is committed to maintaining the State Capitol
as a historically significant and functional building; and

The Georgia Building Authority will soon begin an extensive
renovation project on the west steps and entrance area of the State
Capitol; and

A twelve—foot tall bronze statue of Thomas E. Watson currently sits

squarely in the middle of the construction area where these
important renovations must take place.

Now, THEREFORE, BY VIRTUE OF THE POWER VESTED IN ME AS
GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

That the Georgia Building Authority shall relocate the statue of

Thomas E. Watson from the west lawn of the State Capitol to Plaza
Park.
