EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP—21) Act (Pub. L. No. 112-141, 126 Stat. 405) requires that the Secretary of Transportation manage programs to address national priorities for reducing highway deaths and injuries; and Section 405(d) of MAP—21 authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to award grants to states that adopt and implement effective programs to reduce driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs; and The State of Georgia is currently in its first year of receiving a grant under Section 405(d) of MAP—21; and Eligibility of the State of Georgia to receive funding from this grant requires that the state convene a task force to develop a statewide plan to address the problem of impaired driving during the first year of the grant.
