THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: ESTABLISHING A STATEWIDE PUBLIC SAFETY INTEROPERABILITY WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS : WHEREAS: ORDERED: ORDERED: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR THE STATE OF GEORGIA The State of Georgia recognizes that public safety is a core function of state government; and Interoperable communications is a critical need for first responders and other public safety personnel; and Effective governance is essential to efficient operation and utilization of state communications assets; and The State of Georgia desires to design, implement and maintain an interoperable communication system that ensures the public safety through a partnership of state agencies and private sector stakeholders; and No other legally authorized entity now exists in the State of Georgia with the authority to properly address issues of interoperability among the state’s public safety community. NOW, THEREFORE BY THE POWER VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY That there is created a Georgia Statewide Public Safety Interoperability Executive Committee which is vested with all of the powers and authority set forth in the provisions of this Executive Order. IT IS FURTHER That the Committee shall meet at least quarterly, ensure that state communications resources are utilized in a manner that is in the best interest of the State of Georgia, establish guidelines for subcommittees and/or working group by appointment, prepare reports (as may be required) regarding the operation of the committee, and shall ensure that the requirements of grants, funding allocations, contracts, and agreements are met and that public safety needs are ensured. ,
