u I.‘\_ THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: By Executive Order dated June 15, 2012, I appointed a review commission to determine whether the indictment of Dougherty County Board of Education member, Ms. Velvet A. Riggins, relates to and adversely impacts the administration of the office of board member of the Dougherty County Board of Education pursuant to O.C.G.A. §45-5-6; and By the report dated June 26, 2012, that commission unanimously recommended that Dougherty County Board of Education member, Ms. Velvet A. Riggins, be suspended from office under the provisions of O.C.G.A. § 45-5-6. Now, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY That Ms. Velvet A. Riggins is hereby suspended from office immediately and Without further action pending the final disposition of the case or until the expiration of her term of office, whichever occurs first, as provided in O.C.G.A. § 45-5-6(c).
