THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: Dougherty County Board of Education member, Velvet Angletia Riggins, was indicted on April 26, 2012, on one count of Public Record Fraud, two counts of Theft by Taking, and one count of Providing False Information to Obtain Free School Meals for Child; and The indictment was transmitted to the Governor pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 45—5—6(b), and the certified copy was received on May 10, 2012; and The 14-day period following the receipt of the indictment as prescribed by O.C.G.A. § 45-5-6(e) has passed. Now, THEREFORE, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME As GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT Is HEREBY That Attorney General Sam Olens; Henry County Board of Education member, Erik Charles; and Tift County Board of Education member, Shawn Utley, are hereby appointed as the review commission to determine whether the indictment relates to and adversely affects the administration Of the office Dougherty County Board of Education member by Ms. Riggins such that the rights and interests of the public are adversely affected thereby and to make a written report to me within 14 days with a recommendation as to whether Ms. Riggins should be suspended from office as required by O.C.G.A. §45—5—6(e).
