Trice was indicted on November 7, 2011, on four counts of False Statements, nine counts of Failure to Establish and Maintain Account for Escrow Funds, five counts Failure to Register as Authorized Pre—Need Dealer, nine counts of Failure to File Required Report as Authorized Pre—Need Dealer, seven counts Practicing Law Without License, four counts Operating as Unauthorized Insurer, and one count Theft by Conversion; and The indictment was transmitted to the Governor pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 45-5—6(b), and the certified copy was received on January 31, 2012; and The commissioner has voluntarily authorized the Governor to suspend her from office. N OW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT Is HEREBY That Commissioner Trice is hereby suspended from office immediately and without further action pending the final disposition of the case or until the expiration of her term of office, whichever occurs first, as provided in O.C.G.A. § 45—5—6(c).
