THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: By Executive Order dated December 21, 2011, I appointed a review commission to determine whether the indictment of City of Cochran Mayor, Mr. Clifford Lee Avant, related to and adversely impacts the administration of the office of mayor pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 45-5-6; and By the report dated December 30, 2011, that commission unanimously recommended that City of Cochran Mayor, Mr. Clifford Lee Avant, be suspended from office under the provisions of O.C.G.A. § 45-5-6. N ow, THEREFORE, PURSUANT To THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GoVERNoR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY That Mr. Clifford Lee Avant is hereby suspended from office immediately and without further action pending the final disposition of the case or until the expiration of his term of office, whichever occurs first, as provided in O.C.G.A. § 45-5—6(c).
