EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: There are over 5,000 buildings on lands in the custody and control of the Department of Natural Resources; and Occasionally one of these buildings is scheduled for replacement by a more modern structure, or one of these buildings is no longer of any serviceable value to the public; and The Department of Natural Resources has requested that the Commissioner of Natural Resources be given the authority to authorize the demolition of surplus non-historical buildings that either have been replaced by new buildings serving the same purpose, or are smaller surplus buildings that have no value in serving the public. NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA BY VIRTUE OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE OFFICIAL CODE OF GEORGIA 50-16-61, IT IS HEREBY That the Commissioner of Natural Resources is authorized to demolish surplus, non-historical buildings that either (1) do not exceed 2,000 square feet in size or (2) have been replaced by new buildings serving the same purpose.
