Faulkner, 23, of Griffin, Georgia, honorably served our country in the United States Army; and Private Faulkner made the ultimate sacrifice on March 29 after his unit (2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division) was attacked in Konar province, Afghanistan; and It is fitting and proper to recognize Private Faulkner’s service and sacrifice by lowering the flags on the State Capitol building and grounds to half-staff on the day of his interment. Now, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND As A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF PRIVATE JEREMY P. FAULKNER, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, rr IS HEREBY That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol building and grounds on Saturday, April 9, 2011, the day of his funeral, until sunset.
