EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: ORDERED: ORDERED: During times of crisis, it is important to remember the significance and role of faith; and The Homeland Security Volunteer Chaplain Program was formed to establish a means of communication among all law enforcement and public safety chaplains in the event of a major catastrophic incident in our state; and The Homeland Security Volunteer Chaplains are representative of the different areas of law enforcement and public safety, including but not limited to the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia Chiefs of Police, Georgia Sheriffs Association, and the Department of Natural Resources; and The Homeland Security Volunteer Chaplains meet at the call of the Senior Homeland Security Chaplain, and selflessly serve without compensation. Now, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AU'I‘HORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, rr IS HEREBY That Dr. Laudis H. “Rick” Lanford shall continue to serve as the Senior Homeland Security Chaplain. IT IS FURTHER That Dr. Lanford is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the Homeland Security Volunteer Chaplain Program and may designate and swear in other ordained ministers who meet the training, educational, and professional requirements of the Homeland Security Volunteer Chaplain Program.
